Making room for Katie

As our family expanded it has become painfully clear that my old faithful chevy truck just did not have enough room to haul mom, dad, Michael, Katie, and all associated paraphernalia. One of the first things I did when I graduated from NCSU was to purchase my first new truck. A blue 1998 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab. This truck has provided wonderful and nearly uninterrupted service for nearly 193,000 miles.

"Ol' blue" Just before being traded in during the short lived "cash for clunker" program.

At a local Chevrolet Dealership Beth discovered that the "cash for clunker" program officially began on last Monday. This also overlapped the last week of employee pricing and an additional $4,000 rebate from Chevrolet. Since my truck also qualified for the government $4,500 cash for clunker program, and with a few other lesser discounts we ended up buying a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 with a Crew cab for nearly $11,000 off of the original sticker price.

This new truck has ample room for two car seats and even another passenger. So the Cole family welcomes our new truck, which was honestly a purchase of necessity coupled with the benefit of the stars lining up just right. We signed the papers about 6 hours before the government "cash for clunkers" program was suspended! Talk about luck or blessings!
