Katie is flourishing! She has begun eating 7 fluid ounces per meal! She weighs a bit over 12 pounds, and we have been given the green light by her pediatrician to start feeding her some baby food. Soooooooooooooo , we have begun attempting to feed her some rice cereal and small amounts of baby food with a spoon.
Initially Katie was a bit apprehensive, but tonight decided this might be alright after all and quite readily opened her mouth in anticipation. On occasion she even took Beth's hand and pulled it toward her mouth.
We feel mixed emotions about her progress. With Michael we could not wait to feed him with a spoon, or for him to crawl or sit up. With Katie all of these changes come with some reluctance.
We feel that we never had the chance to have the "infant baby" time with Katie that we had with Michael. It may also be that we are still in the sheltering and/or protective mode for our special little package. Time stands for no one, and in our case it seems to be sprinting.

Go Katie! That's so exciting! We've purchased the rice cereal, but all the stars haven't aligned yet for us to give it a try! lol
